Aluminum Repair in Lowry Crossing for Panels and Structure
Aluminum fenders, hoods and truck beds need their own tools and a slower hand. You hear what we plan to repair, what may need replacing and how each stage is going.

Plenty of pickups and late-model SUVs around Princeton and McKinney now wear aluminum hoods, fenders, doors and bed sides. The metal is light and strong, but it lacks the forgiving memory of steel and can crack if it gets too hot or is worked too hard. That is why aluminum jobs happen in a separated area with tools reserved for that metal alone, since stray steel dust can cause corrosion under the paint. Before anything is straightened, we show you which panels look repairable and which ones the carmaker says to replace. If a repair attempt reveals a crack or a tear, we call and explain the change instead of quietly adding it to the bill. You get the same updates any job here gets: after teardown, when parts arrive, during repair and paint, and at the final check.
What Goes on Your Aluminum Work Order
Aluminum work adds steps a steel repair skips. Here is each one, listed the way it appears on your plan.
Magnet test and metal ID
We check each panel with a magnet and the build sheet to confirm which ones are aluminum, which matters because many vehicles pair aluminum skins with a steel frame.
Separate bay and dedicated tools
Hammers, dollies, sanders and dust extraction stay with aluminum only, keeping steel particles off the surface.
Measured heat straightening
Heat is applied in small amounts with temperature checks so it becomes workable without losing strength.
Pulling with welded studs
When there is no way to reach behind a dent, small studs are fused to the face and pulled to lift it out.
Rivets and structural adhesive where specified
When the procedure specifies rivets and bonding adhesive in place of welding, that is exactly how the panel gets joined.
Bed side and tailgate work
Pickup beds and tailgates often take the hit, and we repair or replace them with latch and gap checks after.
Moisture barriers before paint
Bare aluminum gets the right primer and seam sealer so moisture cannot creep under the new finish.
Side-by-side fit review
Gaps, latches and paint texture are compared side to side before we call you with the final update.
The Stages of Your Aluminum Repair
- 01
Inspect and lay out the plan
We look over the damage, confirm the metal and pull the maker's repair procedures. You get a written plan that marks each panel as repair or replace, plus the reason. Questions about the claim get answered here too, before any work begins.
- 02
Teardown, parts and metalwork
Damaged trim comes off and we look for anything the first inspection missed. Replacement panels and rivets are ordered, and you hear when they arrive. Straightening and joining happen in the aluminum area, and if a panel shows a crack mid-repair, you get a call before the plan changes.
- 03
Seal, paint and close out
Bare metal is sealed and primed, then the panels go to the booth for color and clear. After reassembly, we check gaps, latches and lights. The last update is a call to come pick up, along with a quick walk around the vehicle showing what was done.
Why Aluminum Owners Bring Their Vehicles Here
Straight talk about repair or replace
Some aluminum panels can be saved and some cannot. We show you the damage and the maker's guidance so the decision makes sense.
No shortcuts with mixed metals
Keeping steel tools and dust away is a slow habit, but it protects the panel from corrosion long after you drive off.
Updates at the stages that matter
Aluminum repairs can take a turn once the metal is worked. When that happens, you hear about it from us first.
