ADAS Calibration in Lowry Crossing After Body or Glass Work

Your lane alerts, adaptive cruise and automatic braking only work as well as the sensors feeding them. We tell you which ones your repair affects and show you the results once they are reset.

How a Repair Can Knock Sensors Off Aim

Driver-assist features watch the road through a camera mounted at the top of the windshield, radar hidden in the grille or bumper, and small sensors tucked into the corners. Swapping a windshield, replacing a bumper cover or even adjusting the alignment can nudge their aim enough that lane alerts and automatic braking react late or not at all. Calibration resets that aim using the procedure the carmaker publishes for your exact model. Before we start, you get a list of which systems your car has, which ones the repair touched and which calibrations the maker calls for. Drivers who commute on SH 121 or merge onto US 380 lean on these features every day, so we never leave them for last. When the work is done, you get a printout showing each system before and after.

Calibration Checks on Your Work Order

These are the checks we list on your work order, so you always know which ones are finished and which are next.

  • Starting diagnostic scan

We read every module first so stored codes from the crash or the repair are on record before anything is adjusted.

  • Model-specific procedure pull

The carmaker's calibration steps for your trim are printed and attached to the job, so the method is never a guess.

  • Level floor and target layout

Targets are placed at measured distances on a level floor, because a small error in placement can throw a camera reading.

  • Tire pressure and ride height prep

The car has to sit the way the maker expects, so we set pressures, clear the cargo area and check ride height first.

  • Resetting the camera behind the glass

The camera behind the glass is reset to its targets after windshield work or any hit near the top of the car.

  • Leveling the front radar

The radar behind your grille or bumper is leveled and pointed straight so following-distance and braking features measure the gap ahead accurately.

  • Blind-spot and parking sensor checks

Rear corner radar and bumper sensors are tested after any rear or side repair, then recalibrated if the procedure requires it.

  • Test-drive learning and closing scan

Some systems finish learning on a test drive, and a last scan confirms the warning lights stay off.

How We Handle the Calibration

  1. 01

Figure out what your car carries

We scan the car and look up the maker's requirements for each system the repair could have disturbed. You get a short list in plain words: what needs calibrating, why, and whether it happens in the bay, on the road or both. If your insurer covers it, the same list goes to the adjuster.

  2. 02

Prep the car and set the targets

Tires, fuel level and ride height are brought to the maker's spec. Targets go up at measured spots around the car. If we find a bent bracket or loose sensor mount, we stop and call you, because aiming a sensor on a damaged mount only hides the problem.

  3. 03

Aim, test and hand over the results

Each system is calibrated and confirmed, and anything that needs a road drive gets one on open stretches near New Hope. A closing scan checks for codes. You get the printout and a quick explanation of what each line means before you leave.

What Makes Our Calibration Work Easy to Trust

  • Paper you can read

Results come on a printout, and we walk you through it. You see which systems passed instead of taking our word for it.

  • Mounts checked before aiming

A sensor is only as straight as the bracket it sits on. We inspect mounts first so the calibration actually holds.

  • Tied to the rest of your repair

Calibration is planned into the job from the first estimate, so it never gets forgotten at the end.
