Getting a Wrecked Car Off the Shoulder

A crash leaves plenty to think about, and getting the car moved should not be the hardest part. When a vehicle cannot be driven safely, we help line up a flatbed tow from the scene, a storage lot or your driveway to our shop. Loading it flat keeps damaged wheels, suspension and bumpers from being dragged and causing more harm along the way. Many tows start on US 380 where it crosses the East Fork of the Trinity or from side roads toward Princeton, and the driver knows to bring the car here instead of to a distant yard. Once it arrives, we photograph it, list what we see and call you with the plan. From that point, the repair follows the same pattern as every job here, with updates at each stage.

Handled With Every Tow We Arrange

This is the list we work through whenever we set up a tow. Each item is noted on your file so nothing slips.

  • Arranging the tow truck

We help set up a flatbed with the operator and confirm the pickup spot, so you are not calling around from the shoulder.

  • Flat loading for damaged cars

Cars with bent wheels or hanging parts ride on a flatbed so nothing drags or scrapes on the way to the shop.

  • Loose parts strapped down

Dangling bumper covers, mirrors and trim are strapped or collected so they arrive with the car instead of staying on the pavement.

  • Release from a holding yard

If police had the car taken to a holding yard, we help you sort out the release and move it to our lot.

  • Unloading photos for the insurer

The car is photographed during unloading, giving the insurer a clear record of the damage on arrival.

  • Your belongings bagged and labeled

Bags, chargers, car seats and papers are gathered and set aside for you to collect.

  • Tow costs folded into the claim

We add the tow to your estimate so it is part of the claim conversation rather than a separate bill to chase.

  • First repair assessment

After the first look, we tell you whether the car seems repairable and what the next stage of the plan is.

From Pickup Spot to Repair Plan

  1. 01

    Share where the car is

Give us the spot, the make and model, and whether the wheels still turn. If you are still at the scene, make sure everyone is safe and the police report is started. We help arrange a flatbed and let you know who is coming.

  2. 02

    Arrival, photos and a walk-around

The car is unloaded carefully at our shop and photographed from every side. We do a walk-around and note anything leaking, hanging or damaged underneath. Then we phone you with what we found and the next move.

  3. 03

    Estimate, claim and repair plan

We write the estimate and send it to your insurer if a claim is open. Once approved, the car moves into teardown and the regular update rhythm begins. You will know when parts are ordered, when repair starts and when the final check is done.

Why Have the Shop Arrange Your Tow

  • One less stop for the car

Going straight to the repair shop avoids an extra yard visit and the added handling and fees that can come with it.

  • A record from the start

Photos at arrival give the insurer clean evidence of what the crash did, which helps the claim go smoothly.

  • Someone to explain what is next

After a rough day, it helps to have a person tell you plainly what happens with the car and when you will hear more.
